problems with Diacom and LT1

   If the car is using an aftermarket harness, would you still be able to 
plug Diacom in and scan?  I've heard stories/rumors about not being able to 
communicate with some aftermarket harnesses (Painless Wiring Harnesses come 
to mind).

   When we did my TPI swap, we adapted a factory F-body engine harness to use 
in my Monte SS.  It was tougher than buying a premade harness, but I have 
full communication with everything from my cheapie AutoXRay all the way up to 
the SnapOn stuff.

   If he has no luck with the test procedure you stated, I'd suggest looking 
further into the harness itself.
