[Gmecm] Can't keep car in closed loop...

As no year/model of vehicle was given, normally temp will not an issue.  CL  
should happen long before engine gets to operating temp.  This implies in 
the area of 100-120? coolant temps.  The intent is to go CL as early as possible,
not to be in OL as long as possible.

  180 may be marginal.
  195-210 is normal operating temp and depending on the cal, 180 may be why it's dropping out of closed loop.  possibly cooling down too much when the stat opens and dropping below 180.
