Hi. Just thought I'd introuduce myself. My name is Jeff and I am new
to this list. I have been trying to find a way to 'hack' a Saturn PCM.
I need some help in figuring out what I have so I can go about this.
I have experience with electronic components. And with EPROM/EEPROM
programmers. But I'm not an expert. This is why I'm here. I'm hoping
that the experienced users of this mail list can help me to figure out
what I need to do to figure out what I have. And hopefully what I can
do to get into this thing to modify it. It would be nice to access the
fuel and ignition tables so I can tune on the fly. Or to be able to
access things like cooling fan turn on/off temps, egr, etc.

Here's what I'm working with. I have about 10 Saturn PCM's to my
disposal. All of them are 91-94 OBD-I. I took the cover off of a 94
SL2 manual transmission PCM and took some high-res pics.

The PCM has the numbers 186A943-P5 etched into it. It has chips that
are similar to other GM PCM's I've seen pics of on the net. I
downloaded a ZIP file from the GM_ECM webpage that contained the ALDL
definitions for most GM vehicles. The index file said that definition
number A161 was for Saturn. But that file is missing from the .ZIP
file. Just my luck..

Any help would be appreciated. Unlike other Saturn owners, I'm willing
to throw some money at this to figure this thing out. If someone
want's to take a stab at this, I'll send a PCM your way and compensate
you for it.

Thanks

Jeff Silva
