[Gmecm] 1227165 vs 1227808

Hi John & Mark,

I have successfully done the opposite - 808 in place of 165. I assume it can be done the other way if this is possible. You could also use the VR & VS Manual 16183082 or 16206305 ECM. I have also done this when I thought my 165 ECM was acting up. The Commodore MAP system seems much simpler, compared with the emissions found on the MAF TPI 165 ECM.

Was it a V6 or V8 that you were swapping the 165 into? If you are in Sydney, I could offer some help as I have three 808 and one 165 ECMs spare at home. I'm not that experience on the Commodore setup, but have done heaps of trouble shooting on my TPI MAF setup.

Cheers,
ANDREW

    Hi All,
I was lead to believe that the 1227808 was just a 1227165 w/o 8192 baud ALDL and are 100% pin compatible with each other. Can anyone confirm that I should be able to use a 1227165 in place on a 1227808?

    Regards,
    John
