[Gmecm] Bellhousing Design-Iron Duke

All,
	I know this is a little off-topic, but since this thread has
contained a lot of information about bell-housing patterns, I thought
I'd ask.  A friend of mine is trying to find a new powerplant for a '71
Alpha Spyder.  He wants a newer dual-overhead cam motor, but since they
are all front drivers these days, he doesn't know where to start.  From
this thread, it appears that they would use the same bell-housing as an
S-10, even though they are meant for FWD.  He's been looking at Quad
4's, and I have a Saturn motor laying around.  Would either of those
bolt to a RWD transmission?

Actually, there were more than 3 bellhousings even for 
something as new as a THM400.  The 64 buick had a 
special round bellhousing, as did Cadillac.  The Cad 429 
had a bellhousing which looked like the BOP, but a couple 
holes were drilled differently.  This also affected the THM425, 
though all 68-78 and later THM325s used the BOP pattern.  
There were other 400s built for RR and Jags, etc.  

Adapters are cool, have done them also.  Bruce Roe
