Steve,
I've done the 4th  gear TCC in the past. The trick is to get a vacuum switch 
from an early carbureted
700r4. Such as an 83 2bl 2.8 S10. The TCC power goes through it and when you 
get past about 40%
throttle, it opens the circuit. They are getting kind of rare in the junk 
yards.
