You don't need to buy a burner.  There are lots of way of getting the
code on to a chip

Buy a flash chip from moates ~$5.

Get an old computer and a 3com 905 nic card with the prom chip socket.
These nic cards sell for ~$10.
Boot a linux boot cd and program the chip.

They are for DSM(mitsu) applications but they use nearly the same chip.
