No problem Fred, I was just kidding (see the smiley?).  Yeah ok I
was a bit miffed but the reality is my 454 is pretty stifled compared
to a really high-end motor, and the 6K redline is far from breaking any
records... My point was that I had no problem getting the engine running

Truth is, I've been tweaking it for the past few months, slowly dialing   
it
in.  I'm sure you're right about some engines being difficult to get
running well with the TEC (or any system for that matter).  I suppose
certain physical properties will cause most real-world engines to be
considerably non-linear, and they will just get worse as you get more
radical...

Re-read what I said and responded to.
I was responding to the statement saying you could have a good running
engine by setting TOG and IOT. This is, 99% of the time, bull shit!
I never said an engine couldn't be made to run well with the system.
Some will be much easier to get running well than others, and those are
the low reving stifled ones. Nothing wrong with that. Why take offence to
that statement?

I've gotten many different engines running well on TECs, but they do have
their limitations.
