PS (pun intended)

Would anyone know how to convert PS to HP, and kW to HP (if possible)?
I have seen dyno results from a Japanese magazine that read in PS and
kW, and I'd like to see how that comes out to in good-old Horsepower.


I forgot about the second half of the question: PS is
Pferdestaerke.  I have assumed that PS is the same as metric
horsepower. Apparently, it is being used in Japan.
