Fuel pump questions

I've spent literally 100's hours watching the fuel pressure guage,
was always rock steady, unless the tank was low, and then under
braking a slight bobble (downward).  While I never recall getting
crazy when low on gas, at over 1/4 tank never had any erattic
readings.  1/4 tank rule was as much the chassis liking the extra
weight, as anything else.  The fuel guage line was of min. cross
section to avoid dampened signals.
