Converting to EFI from Carb - help

Steve,

All in all that should be a fairly easy conversion. Having the shop manual
will definitely help. Most of the simple stand alone harnesses I make like
yours, end up with only three wires to hook up. Battery, Switched 12 volts
(key switch), and Fuel Pump. The manual will let you find how to sort thru
the harness you have and pick out these essential wires. You'll also want to
add a check engine light and an ALDL connector for monitoring and
troubleshooting.
You may need to step up to a 3.1 EPROM to get the cal closer to your
3.4, but just start with the EPROM that you have. Don't forget the EST
distributor that you need to bring it all together. I would go with a frame
mounted, inline fuel pump and add a return line also.
I am presently doing a 4.2 liter inline six Jeep CJ, and am emulating a
4.3 L Chevy V6 for the TBI, etc. This should work out very well, as I have
done similar conversions in the past. Good Luck!
