MAF -v- MAP

Dave-
With MAF or MAP you're going to have to build a set of calibration tables to
bring the salvaged parts into line with your engine. The work should be about
the same for either. The benefit of MAF occurs after you have it all set up
and running. The first time you change anything (higher altitude, new cam,
wear n' tear), you'll have to reprogram if you went with MAP. MAF will adapt
rather well to most changes.

Besides, MAP won't work at all if your setup doesn't develop any vacuum, even
at idle (which is where we're all heading). :-)

Too true. Even if you have the characteristic curve for your MAF,
you're still likely to need a correction table for it. MAP does make
a LOT of sense.
