It's amazing how much exhaust sound a turbo will eat up. I haven't tried
it yet, but it would be interesting to see what a V8 with twin turbos,
going into high flow cats, like maybe 3 inch or so, then just pipes all
the way back would sound like. I know it would be louder than totally
stock, but as long as it wasn't "too" loud. Probably be ok until you
stood on it an then would sound rather open. I have tried twin turbos
into 3 in 3 out flowmasters and it is too quite... way quieter than the
same engine without the turbos, even when you are in high boost mode.
Just something about what the impellor does to the sound I guess. I
don't know if "quieter" or "quieter sounding" would be more accurate.
