Hi Tamas
I recently went thru some of the same stuff you are going thru except with
the ECU from a Jetta GLX that I damaged in the process of putting a VW VR6
in my 85 GTI. My goal was to repair the box. By the way I am also a
hardware type EE. I got as far as finding alternate sources for some of the
chips. I believe th processor is a 80c188 variat. Most of the people out
there just alter a few things in the EPROM to change things like the rpm
limit and boost limit. One way I have seen this done is to hook the whole
system up with an a flash d to a on the address buss and a second d to a on
the data buss The two outputs are hooked to the V and H inputs on a scope.
Then as each of the sensors are tweaked you can eaisly see what areas of the
code are changing. Then go in with an ICE and do detail analysis of the code.
