ROM for a '87 5.7L Chev Caprice

I want to reprogram the rom on a '87 Chev Caprice 5.7L electronic carb
ECM.  The ECM's service number is #1228097 and the rom is "ACFM".  THe
rom is a 1024 x 8.  How would I find an explanation of "what" is "where"
in the rom.  I would think in 10 years, someone has figured this simple
rom out.
