This is a brand new design from the ground up.  It shares the same bore
center spacing as the venerable small block, but that's about it.  It's
a deep skirt all aluminum block.  Deep skirt meaning that the block
extends down past the centerline of the crank.  It's still a pushrod, 2
valve/cylinder design.  The intake is a single piece design made from
*plastic*, assembled by a third party (Bosch?), shipped to Bowling Green
and put on.  Injectors etc. are already on it.  I don't believe there
are any interchangeable parts from the old SBC.  I say old SBC because
this design is the next SBC, cast iron versions will eventually find
their way into trucks etc.
