The learning curve for anything reasonably complicated is always steep, and 
carbs are a good example. Brand preference is also a factor, just like it is 
with cars etc. The old UglyJet was a lot different than a 4150/60 Holley, but 
it was an exellent carb, both for emmissions and performance (IMO)
