The chemicals are fun for lot's of things, but let's not make folks think
we have been snorting them by this kind of interpretation of the steam
tables!!

The critical point of water is indeed 705-3206, but that does not mean that
heating H2O to 705 will give you that pressure. It simply means that above
705, H2O CAN ONLY EXIST as a gas (steam). And the latent heat of
vaporization of critical  or super critical pressure water is 0 BTU's per
pound!!

This last factoid is what made the analog water level controls for
conventionally fired supercritical boilers some of the most sophisticated
Rube Goldberg stuff ever built by man!
