So that's where stolen blocks go!

The U.S. engines have the number stamped on a small pad which extends beyond
the right hand cylinder head.  That's R.H. when you are sitting in the
vehicle.  If the engine block has ever been surface ground where the heads bolt
on, the number is probably gone.  I'd probably try to find a reciept for
machine work if I found the numbers weren't there...
