Mike,

You can use a 0-30" h2o calibrated pressure transmitter in place of a clunky
manometer. This pressure transmitter can be purchased through Omega
Engineering, website address: www.omega.com

All you need is a 24vdc power supply to power the instrument, wire in series a
digital display to show what your calibrated units are. This instrument will
have a 4-20ma output which corresponds to the 0-30" pressure calibration. You
know what the flow rate is at a given pressure according to your manometer,
for instance 0-30"h2o would equal 0-300cfm flow. I assume that it is
graduated in inches of water, and not inches of mercury, in anycase if it is
inches of Hg, then all you would have to do is spec out the correct range to
Omega.

I think that the transmitter will also run on 12vdc as well, however I have
not actually tried that as all of our industrial controls systems are
standardized with 24vdc. Omega can supply you with a small pressure
transmitter and a digital display, which will all run of of one power supply.
