It's a bunch of work, but ya can do just fine with no vacuum
advance like Clare said.  Just have the centrifical advance
ramp in real quick, and have the carb right.

If some one can do the fuel but has trouble with the timing
control  MSD has a "Timing Computer".  So you can use
a fixed distributor, and have a rpm ramped advance, slope
and total advance are adjustable, 20d cranking retard for
starting.  Just use a divide by on the coil output for a signal
for a batch fire.  To Synch it would take extra work for SEFI.
