Cams timing and all that

Back in the 60's, there was a kit that was sold that would adjust the
cam timing while running... They made big power claims in their
ads...supposedly in practice it was rather unreliable and most just
locked the cam down at one setting and left it after a while (saw this
in a late 60's early 70's Hot rod or Car Craft). I really don't know
much else as I was 2 in 1970 <grin>.
