Jaycar Knock Sensor Re: Injector Duty Cycle

I 'am working on reverse engineering a ESC (electronic spark controller)
from a 1984 Chevy truck. The controllers
Only input is from the detonation sensor. The output is to the 7 terminal
module in the HEI. The HEI has mechanical and VAC advance. There are (2)
24 pin IC's on the board 26500 and 26327 and lots of resistors and
capacitors. Once the
Board is figured out I'm sure it could be tuned for specific frequencies.
This is an early version of the black sealed module.
Any help on chip ID would be appreciated

Thanks

Don

I installed the Jaycar Knock Sensor on my car. The circuit is
basically an
amplifier, hi-pass filter, low-pass filter, Schotcky diode to coil,
buzzer
	& LED level meter.

The knock sensor element is either home-made ( bit of metal with
piezo
element out of Ear Piece and coax connected to it) or commercial
unit from
	Wrecker.

I found the Kit version to be OK, it worked first go (and so it
should
since the electronics are very simple). However the sensitivity
range was
	too coarse (trimpot).

However, I disconnected the buzzer straight off. It drove me crazy
while I
was nutting out the sensitivity issue.

Jaycar still produce this kit, Engine Knock Sensor (KC-5203)
AUD$34.95
