I have cleaned some high mileage injectors with 1/4 inch deep crud on the big
ends. I don't see how a shot of solvent thru the injector will get rid of the
outside stuff. I think you need both. I used solvent,  a toothbrush, some dentist
scrapers and a eye loop. I think that's where "rebuilt" injectors come from... the
guy before you at the shop
