BTW, that is exactly the way the computer controlled boost works on my
89 Dodge 2.5L turbo, although it's wastegate is set to only 4 psi of
boost and the computer then bleeds enough boost off of the waste gate to
get about 10 psi max.

Might be another source of parts for those on a budget.
