To really be useful the sensor needs to be a wide ratio, one.  It also,
needs
temperature compensation, items not found in a $60 unit.  While better than
nothing, the accuracy and repeatability of these items suffers.
   If you read bach in the archives, search EGOR, and there is lots of info
about sensors
