Hi,
Because it is farther from the UV than usual...it takes quite a bit
longer to get it to fully erase......forget about the timer and let that
eprom set for at least an hour and your probs will go away....try not to
move it or have the uv light go out while this is happening ....btw proms
have no window.....eproms do....eraseable programmable read only
memory....hth's (hope my memory serves me right on this one)

Subject: EPROM Eraser not erasing New EPROM

I just bought a new eprom (in memcal carrier) for my 93 f-bod and read it in
fine using the pocket programmer, but I cant seem to erase it. I am using
the Datarase II EPROM eraser which I rigged so it would stay on with the
cover off. I put the clear part of the eprom over the light and set the
timer for the longest time 3 times and still I have no "FF's" appearing when
I plug it in for the blank check in the pocket programmer. Am I missing
something? The other side of my eprom has what appears to be the chip with
the factory sticker on it, so I THINK I am putting the right side under the
light. Could new eproms be NON programmable?
