There are heaps of SPI eeproms around (in USA) not many sampled in Australia,
i2c seems to be the most available...

Suggest you join the atmel users group, I've been on it for a while and
has all sorts of nice gear, send the message 'join' in subject and
body to <atmel-request at pic.co.za>
