CD question

This a little off topic, but,,,

I want to do a high voltage experiment and think the cheapest source of
parts might be using a capacitive discharge system.  Want to be able to take
a low voltage oscillator to fire a spark plug.  Figure I could use a CD
system plugged into a coil plugged into a spark plug.  Not sure how I would
couple the CD system to  get its signal from the low voltage oscillator.
Also don't know if I am missing something here.
