AW: Motec and knock control [was Re: Aussie ECU's/cylinder pressure sensors]

I have seen this input on the M8. But I would like to have the filtering
and knock detection in the main ECU.
The M800 has a CAN connector and the decription of the dash (ADL) says
it can accept CAN inputs. I do not know if it actually works or if it is
a future feature.

I think you can use an auxiliary input channel on the Motec to give it a
knock control / knock retard capability. You need a
filtered/preprocessed
knock sensor input signal. You could probably use the older GM knock
modules
from when they were not integrated into the ECM/chip. I think this is
what
Accel/DFI used/uses for knock control as well.

BTW - I recall talking to someone at Motec and they said they were
working
on CAN capability. They may have already integrated into the newer ECM's
that just introduced over the fall/winter.
