Ign Advance on MR-2

Ok, I'm convinced. The LED is much easier to fabricate, but I intend to
drive this car to and from work and it needs to be reliable.

As an aside, is reflected light really that big of an issue if the car has a
hood on it? Not trying to be difficult, but I have to ask.

I don't have much space between the crank puley and the car's frame. How
much "meat" do I have to have in order to be able to sense it?

Thanx,
Mike Diehl.

Infra-red, and crank don't mix too well.
Sunlight can overwhelm it.
If you use a pulsed Source, is better, but sunlight, or reflected
sunlight
can blind it.
