Converting my motorcycle to EFI

the problem with trying to convert a motorcycle to fuel injection, and using a fuel injected
donor bike for parts is that nothing really fits, and it's a whole lot of frigging around
with it to get it to fit.....your particular problem is the positioning of the carbs on a
V4, you would have to be very, very creative to make a set of throttle bodies off an inline
four (the donor) fit into V4
formation. what you might try is make up your own throttle bodies, and use the old carby
butterflies, linkages, etc. for your home made jobbies...(heck, go one step further, and go
bigger using butterflies etc from a larger displacement machine). Jenvey throttle bodies
WWW.JENVEY.CO.UK sells throttle bodies that may suit your needs (need, want, drool), also
try Kinsler if your money outlasts your brains. you could rape a zx11 for it's fuel module,
but then it needs to be hacked, bastardized, dyno tuned, branded, and wigged up so that it
does'nt see anything wrong with what ever incompatable sensors are being used or not used,
and then you may not even change brands of air cleaners without needing another run on the
dyno to burn a new map. as far as the control of delivery goes, I see the route of an
complete aftermarket ECU as the easiest, and likely cheapest in the long run....pretty much
every modern F.I. bike out now, is running open loop, so you don't need a fancy set-up (at
least you save the $200 for an O2 sensor....they must fly a small box of them over here on
the concorde sitting in a seat next to the queen, and that's why they cost so much)
good luck
