For those with a serious concern about corrosion of IC's, there is a
coating called "Heresite" which is used on aluminium finned HVAC coils
which are going to see unusually corrosive environments. It is not as good
as copper fins, which of course is a lot more $$$, but it works pretty
well, and doesn't screw up the heat transfer excessively. Don't know for
sure, but it can probably only be applied to the outside (ambient air)
surfaces of an IC coil.

BUT--there are some big (huge might be a more appropriate word) gains in IC
efficiency which can be had by spraying a water mist on the ambient air
side, so-----
