Hi Bruce,
FWIW, when I did my retrofit, I plumbed a return line into my tank by hard
soldering a new tube through the small plate that holds the sending unit. I
specifically put the return line lower than the fuel level so that I would
not create a fuel "fountain" inside the tank which tends to produce lots of
vapor.
