Hello Axel,

I am limited to the size of the 803 injectors because I got EPROM´s for
my upgraded engine to use with the 803.
I plan to upgrade the ECU to a Pectel T6 later (btw, thanks for your
advice, I contacted them and got a demo software, very impressive. Looks
much better than the Motec software. Price is about US$3000 +US$ 500 for
a NTK UEGO sensor). I could use a setup like yours and add my old
injectors for better low-end (they are 337ml/min).

Hi Bernd,

The 403 are huge. My engine was running rough a low load with them
probably
because the spray was not so good at short duty. I've replaced them with
a
pair of 400 (per cylinder) and this solved my problem of low speed
drivability vs high load flow. Only one injector is used up to about 5ms
then the pulse is split in two and each bank injects half of the fuel.
If
you need the flow and can't add more injectors you may want to select
the
smallest that will meet the requirement, i.e. provive sufficient flow
at,
say 85% duty + a small margin for the operating conditions. I always
assume
100% VE when sizing injectors, just to be on the safe side. About the
spray
pattern and cone angle I didn't really ask myself too much questions as
the
400, 803 and 403 are all used on my type of engine by very serious
people,
so I just took for granted they would be compatible.

I want to use the 403 (currently 804) injectors at 4 bar with my engine
(3L biturbo V6, 600hp). Do you know what spray-pattern these injectors
have and if they are a good choice ? Are there newer (better) designs ?

I've no experience with the injectors you mention but it might be wise
to
contact Robert Bosch Gmbh; I had some success here in Switzerland, I was
able to obtain the information related to the injectors I use (0 280 150
803
and 400).

For information, I use 400 kPa static pressure (which then raise up to
640
kPa with boost) and I know some people are using 500 kPa static pressure
with the 400 and 403 injectors. Also I vaguely recall having read
somewhere
that 500 kPa was the point of diminishing returns.

That said, you might have a fuel pump issue? Are you using a Bosch 044
fuel
pump? Also the regulator's rising rate should be 1:1.
