rare day when I can contribute:)
I figured this info may be of use for others looking to purchase a fuel
pump. I have the tables (some 7-9 pages) of fuel pump info from a member
here previously but coudn't cross over those PN's with anyone and the OE
application wasn't always specific so I chased down some Bosch PN/info.
BOSCH TECH US/CANADA 1-800-521-5462
I called Bosch and got the psi/gph and PN info below and then pricing is
CD$'s (/1.55 ~ for US) from a local auto chain
43.5 psi at 58 gph 0580 254 909 $210 my cost but not in stock
72.5 psi 47.5 gph 0580 464 070 $269 my cost, $369 retail
72.5 psi 42 gph 0580 254 910 $227 in stock and $303 retail
72.5 psi 33 gph 0580 254 911 didn't ask for $ info
58 psi at 36.5 gph 0580 464 069 didn't ask for $ info

My setup won't exceed 450 flywheel hp so I figure using ~.55lbs/hp/hr
=247.5lb fuel/hr. And I forgot to ask Bosch if their gallons were US or
Imperial.....either 6 lb/gal or 7.2 which yields a possible bracket of 41
or 34 gph. As all of this is somewhat conservative using .55 (correct?
depending on AFR etc) the 72.5 psi/42gph $227CD pump should be fine
right?? My edelbrock proflo 3500 specs 45-50psi. I'm optimistic this pump
will be quiet as well. One friend reccomended wrapping it in tape to keep
it quiet and prevent rusting. Any comments/ideers on this?
