Subject: Which WB O2 is Best??
I am getting ready to order parts for the WB - O2 sensor. While pricing the
sensor itself, I have come up with a HUGE variance in price and three
different manufactures. The manufactures are:
1. NTK (Seattle Honda (Dealer) - $330
2. ECHLIN (NAPA Store) - $148.88
3. ECHLIN (NAPA on line) - $139
4. BOSH (Shuck's Auto Supply) - $99+Change
Which one to buy? Which is the highest quality (For 1996 models, Honda
Civics were recalled for defective O2 sensors)?

They are all made by NTK.

BTW, are there any, Group Buy, PCB boards and Parts Kits still available and
what is the cost? I think that if I am forced to buy from other than our
"Group Buy", I'll get Flamed and disowned by the group :-( . Also, does
anyone have an inexpensive source of Bungs to weld into our exhaust system
(S/S would be nice).

Yes, buying the commercial version grounds for flames.
You can get spark plug anti-foulers, and saw the end off and have a bung for
just a couple bucks.
If you were to look in the last months archives, there are numerous postings
about what stage the GPs are at.

IMHO, We really need to develop a real functional test of the electronics
prior to connecting the O2 sensor. An O2 sensor simulator would be nice.

So are you volunteering?.
There are lots of things that others can do.
I could dream up pages of stuff. Just gets down to how much you expect
others to give. And there are some prior postings with some of that info
already.

Also, IMHO, we need some way to calibrate our electronics for differences
between O2 sensors. The one output plot of sensor output, that I have seen,
does not give MFG tolerances (Is it +/-0.001% or +/- 30%? Who knows?). Is
the output linear from 800*C to ?*C ? As good as Honda is, I would guess
that they have some way to electronically compensate for this non-linear,
analog device.

Might again trying the archives.
the DIY has been run in parrarel with several commercial units.
Also the users agreement is very specific that this isn't a lab grade
devise, if you want that presicion then this isn't for you.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me on these subjects.
