Unfortunately so.  If you are interested, it took 42 sec for the "sensor
warm" LED to light from a cold start.  The 1 ohm current sense resistor
in the regulator circuit has a 10 ohm resistor in parallel with it. 
Might be a little faster warmup with even less resistance, but this
seems safe, as the sensor made no "crinkly" noises.  It was being
powered from a 2 amp power supply, set to 13 volts.
