TPS based boost control?

i hear the aftermarket companies brag about their AI "fuzzy logic" that
their electronic boost controllers use to keep the wastegate completely
closed as long as possible and just pop it open at the last instant... is
there any sort of logic like this built into the stock code?  i would assume
that if you just waited till you see the boost you're looking for to open
the wastegate that it would be too late -- you'd get too much boost...  but
is the rate of boost increase something that the computer is just hardcoded
to predict or does it have "learn" values like it does with fueling, etc.?
