Guys,

R134a is so cheap right now, why look at the other blends ? It's not cost
effective at all to look at a blend, especially when considering warranty.

Lyndon

Answer: Because R134A is a substandard refridgerant, with a much lower heat
of vaporization than R12. OEM's have compensated by increasing
substantially
the capacity of the condenser/compressor/evaporator. R134A retrofits
usually
don't provide the 'crispness' that an original R12 system could achieve, and
that
is why there are blends available, to maintain system performance.
There's plenty of info on this available, check out www.aircondition.com or
www.autofrost.com for starters.
