I always thought (no proof) that fuel pumps would work better/last longer
with some sort of lubrication, so I've been planning to use a weak mix
of soluble oil in the water, just to assuage fears that pure water would
rip the pump up.

As for metering, one of my MegaSquirt projects is to use the MS as a
EFWI controller, and I've written code that separates the pulse width
calcs for the two drivers. That's, of course, the easy part. Now I
need to map the WI pulses, and am sort of at a loss as to what the
map should look like. It's easy for WOT, just use say 20% of fuel as
the water delivery, but I'm curious as to whether anyone has good ideas
as to when water should start (assuming that I have a full SD mapping
for water). (My first application will be an I5 turbo running about 21
psig boost. Next up is a NA 4 banger econo motor, with high CR to get
good thermal efficiency.)

Bruce,

A while back you hinted that you were working on some means for shearing
injected water to 8 microns or thereabouts with (I'm guessing here) compressed
air. Have you gotten anywhere on that?

Eric
