[Diy_efi] New member // processor/disassembler questions

Hello Listmembers,

I've just subsribed to this list and so am a new member now.
I'm from Germany and currently working on a project which I call "vegoil
chiptuning". I'd like to change map setting of a diesel EDC (electronic
diesel control), so the car can be started and run on straight vegoil
without problems. The adaptation of map settings is one part of the
whole conversion, however. They should include: longer preheating glow
plugs, more advance of injection timing at a cold engine start, engine
speed limit up to a certain fuel temperature (to save the injector
pump).
So I scanned the two EEproms from a BMW 525tds ECU and received two
(different) 90kb files. My hexeditor showed me the usual hexcode and an
undecipherable code to the right which I guess must be the assembler
programme code.
Digging the archiv I found one message which mentioned the processors,
which are only labeled with a Bosch code "Siemens/Intel B57656" (and
B58298 on the second ECU I have). Those were compatible to 8051
processor types and so could be disassembled with an 8051 disassembler.
(cf.
http://www.diy-efi.org/diy_efi/html_archives/archive_num_93/msg00421.html)

I have two questions on that now:

1.) Has anyone any experience with these processors i.e. can anyone
verify the assignment to Siemens/Intel 8051 type?
2.) Can anyone recommend a good (comfortable in use) disassembler for
them?

Thanks for reading so much text. Next time I'll be shorter...

Stephan
