IMHO, the problem is the 10-10.5:1 CR. Drop it to 8.5 and turn up the 
boost. Intercoolers really work then. For endurance applications, find the 
largest intercooler you can fit. 
Turbos tend to have an rpm range, from X to 2-2.2X. For example 3000 to 
6000-6500 rpm. This can be tweaked w/ waste gates. Positive displacement 
blowers tend to produce the same boost at all RPMs. Guage boost tends to 
rise as internal restrictions increase (VE decrease). 
8000 rpm high boost turbo motors tend to have really soggy low rpm 
performance from the big cam which aggrivates the lack of boost. 
Build a 2.5L 8.5cr 6000 rpm turbo motor w/15 lbs boost, water inj, and 300 
hp on 89 octane.
