Yes, just so. That's why if you'd paid attention to the post, you would
have noticed that a backup system *was* distinctly mentioned, for both
IGN and fuel. Instead of white-washing your previous "thus spake the
Lord", I think you at least owe the bloke an apology for not even
reading his post. What he described is no longer simply an ordinary
vanilla "automotive system" any longer. What auto EFI do you know of
that includes a backup injector and redundant IGN?

Were you also aware that there are some systems that keep full power in
active redundancy all during TOL? No manual switcheroo required. Noooo??
Ahha, another place where a question would have served everyone (except
for your sneery divisive agenda) much better.

For example, helo's unlike fixed-wing airplanes, do indeed pretty
quickly come outta the sky if they lose power. They have systems to
detect main power loss and switch over to backup faster than you can say
shadetree. Doesn't keep them always flying, but at least it helps.

So if your point was to paint the application of modern auto EFI
hardware & technology to aviation as irresponsible, you lose dud. That
aviation can be less forgiving than automobiles never was an issue or
point to need making, unless you think we're all too stupid except for
yourself.
