Both are high octane fuels (ethanol is 113 IIRC), and in fact
added to gasoline today at many places (somewhere up to 10%).
They are more expansive than gasoline.
Increasing the alcohol rate in fuels,
while making alcohol from crops, sugar cane (or whatever) is in
fact an alternativ energy source, helping control the CO2
load of the athmosphere (the plants the alcohol is made from
consume the CO2 wich is later put back to the athmospere
at burning).

Injecting it should be no problem (but you should consider
the water in 96% alcohol)

Methanol is widely used in racing
cars (burns with a transparent but very hot flame :-)
