[Diy_efi] Intake pipe sizing

I dunno if this is OT or not, if so, please point me in the direction of the
list I should ask at :)

Is there any point to having an intake pipe larger than the turbo's inducer?
My intake pipe is 3", my T66 has a 2.6" inducer, and I am trying to minimize
the vacuum in the pipe.

EFI content: I'm using a nift box called the GReddy E Manage to run 2 stock
mass air sensors in parallel. The E Manage has our MAF's voltage to airflow
function built in, so I've got one MAF plugged in, and I told the unit that
it should multiply airflow by 2x. It actually works almost flawlessly (the
restriction on each branch must be exactly the same though!).

I'm puzzled by the vacuum readings I got. Air filter-less, I reduced them
from 2" HG to 1" HG by adding the 2nd MAF. From the little I understand of
airflow, pressure drop should be equal to the velocity squared, so I
expected .5" HG. Is the intake pipe itself posing a restriction, and if so,
its still bigger than my inducer so does it matter?

Thanks for any help,
Grant Beaty
