Hi,
I have two short questions about UEGO sensors in general:
Question 1:
After looking at the output curves of Ip (pump current) vs. Lambda at
various places on the web, can the UEGO outputs not described as:
Lambda = A / (A - Ip) for Lambda > 1 and
Lambda = B / (B - Ip) for Lambda < 1 ??
The constants A and B account for the different curve slopes between for
lambda <1 and > 1.
The assumption is that the ratio C = A/B is constant and a calibration
factor K can be applied to multiply the nominal A and B values during free
air calibration so that the real A and B used are correct. It is also
assumed that there are steady state conditions for temp, air pressure and
exhaust pressure so that the only thing changing is lambda.
Question 2:
Is it possible to calibrate an UEGO for stoich by mounting it in a very
small airtight chamber and then running it. The pump current should
initially indicate free air and then decline and settle at 0 when all
oxygen is pumped out of the chamber?
Regards,
Klaus
