[Diy_efi] Harley Davidson ion sensing ignition

I was doing a web search for ion sensing ignition and came
across this spec sheet:
http://www.mckonsult.se/images/nya%20HD/REVOLUTION.PDF

A more focused search found this but little else:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/classified/automotive/columnists/chi-0207290017jul29.column

A stop by the local dealership to ask for literature
or other info was a waste of time.

So I'm wondering if anyone on the list has any input or
info on the suitability of this ignition for DIYers,
other than the forgone conclusion that the cost will be
outrageous for what you get. Is it capacitor-discharge
(CDI) or induction coil? At a "black box" level, what are
the boxes? What are the connections/interfaces? Any
chance of a schematic for it? Is there really a separate
sensing wire from the COP? Vibration would probably mean
there is some way to hold the coil in place, likely to
be unique, so how difficult would it be to make a CNP
setup w/ a short plug wire? Is it well described in a
service manual? If so, P/N?, source?, price?, etc.

TIA,
philh
