Subject: [Diy_efi] CDI coil question
Has anyone seen the coil on plug coils of the newer motorcycles ? I have =
a coil from a 2001 Fireblade, it fits exactly on my 4V cylinder head.
They are from Denso, available in different lenghts and seem to be used =
on Honda Fireblade, Yamaha R1/R6, Suzuki GSX-R. New about US $50/pcs. =
They are good for 16.000 rpm in the R6.
Now the problem: These coils seem to be CDI coils. How can I connect =
them to my ECU (has COP outputs) ? I have seen the 4-coil CDI driver =
from Autronic, but rather expensive at about US$ 750.
I have looked at the wiring diagram of the Fireblade, they are driven =
directly by the ECU.
Is there a cheaper solution than the Autronic CDI unit ? Maybe DIY ? =
Does anyone have exact specs for these coils ? I did not find anything =
useful on the net.
regards,
Bernd
