This observation (see referenced post below) is what I
originally meant when I said that my boost pressure
stays the same if I let it pressurize fully at a high
throttle angle and then open it to WOT. My gauge is
tapped at the manifold, not before the throttle body.
My wastegate pressure source is directly after the
turbo, but this is irrelevant to the above situation.
There may be a pressure drop between the compressor
and the manifold, but it is fairly linear and doesn't
matter once the wastegate opens. When that happens,
the turbo will not allow the pressure to get any
higher, regardless of where you measure it. If that
maximum is 12 measured in the manifold, well,
regardless of throttle angle, its not going over 12.
